About the Artist:
Paul began taking photographs and painting at a young age after receiving his first traditional Minolta SLR camera from his father. After receiving his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Montclair State University in 1992, he began his professional photography and graphic design career in the New York City area, working as a senior art director / graphic designer for such clients as: Mercedes-Benz, DuPont, Bacardi, Deloitte & Touche, Cadbury, Samsonite, Macy’s, Revlon and The U.S. Mint.
Paul has worked over twenty years in the gift / catalog and advertising industry designing corporate identity, products design, trade show displays, national print advertisements, brand marketing campaigns, etc.
Over the past decade, Paul has broadened his experience and ventured out on his own, by opening up his photography studio known as PhD Design. He currently holds several collegiate licenses with: UALBANY, Siena College, Skidmore College, Union College, Vassar College, Yale University, Princeton University, UMass Amherst, Smith College, Brown University, Harvard University, Cornell University and Dartmouth College.
Paul specializes in historical architectural photography and uses local landmarks as the main subject for his illustrations, photographic products and paintings. He is a watercolor and acrylic painter too.
His unique product gift line consists of: printed postcards and greetings, ceramic trivets, silk-screened posters, marble magnets and coasters, acrylic and laser-engraved keychains, glassware, hand-signed prints, bookmarks and much, much more.
Paul relocated to the Capital District seven years ago from the Berkshires of Western, MA.
