Artist Bio:
My art explores the beauty of impermanence and change. Through this exploration, I imagine the possibilities of new beginnings and well as the mysteries of the old and decayed. As a mixed media artist, I enjoy the freedom to use a variety of materials and techniques. My art assemblages come to life through a process of reimagining found objects, particularly worn, frayed, and rusty elements. A great deal of my creative life is spent looking for interesting objects that can be taken apart, rearranged, or combined with other materials.
As a piece of art comes together, so does it’s story. I encourage my viewers to take a second or even third look at a piece of interest and challenge themselves to reinterpret their initial narrative. Things are often not what they seem to be on first glance.
